Showing the eco-contribution on invoices is a legal duty in France and in most European countries — and a duty your customers check. DoliPlus carries the recycling fee of every product, then prints the mandatory wording on your documents on its own:

  • set the environmental fee once, product by product, or through a rate table;
  • the wording appears under each line, without any manual calculation;
  • the total shows at the bottom of your quotes, orders and invoices;
  • a dashboard tracks the collected amount per customer and per month.

What the eco-contribution is

Do you sell goods covered by waste collection and recycling laws? Then you pass the recycling fee — the eco-contribution, sometimes called the eco-participation or the WEEE fee — on to your customers.

DoliPlus therefore lets you state the environmental contribution of each product. It then prints the mandatory wording on your quotes, your orders and your invoices.

Turning the eco-contribution on

Setup takes two steps. First, in PDF / Interface settings, chapter Product:

  • switch on option PG74 « Manage the eco-contribution »;
  • switch on option 162 as well if you want the per-line detail printed on your documents.

Then, in the dictionaries, enter your codes and amounts in the dedicated rate table.

Setting the amount on a product

On the product card, two methods exist. The first one: type the amount excluding tax straight into the « Eco-contribution » field.

The second one: link a code taken from the dedicated dictionary. Moreover, to refresh a whole catalogue at once, you can import your items with an « ECO » or an « ECO_CODE » column. When both are filled in, the amount attached to the code wins.

How it prints on your documents

Note that the « including eco-contribution » amount is not added to the selling price: the contribution is already inside it. The wording « Including eco-contribution xx.xx excl. tax » simply appears under each product line.

Furthermore, the total shows at the bottom of your quotes, orders and invoices. Finally, a dashboard reports the amount per customer and per month.

On the accounting side

Passed on to the end customer, the contribution belongs to the company turnover. Paid straight to the supplier, it is booked to the same account as the goods themselves. When it is handed over to a collecting body, it goes to a dedicated expense account.

When your customer asks for the eco-contribution in full detail

Some large accounts ask their suppliers for an invoice summary that goes further than the usual « Total excl. VAT / VAT / Total incl. VAT ». They want to read the share of eco-contribution separately, so they can carry it as such into their own books.

DoliPlus prints that layout. The invoice summary then shows four lines:

  • Total excl. VAT and eco-contribution: the net amount, environmental fee and VAT excluded;
  • Eco-contribution: the total of the environmental fees of every line;
  • VAT;
  • Total incl. VAT.

The four amounts add up exactly: your customer finds their total to the cent. The lines themselves stay as you know them — descriptions, quantities, unit prices and discounts unchanged. Credit notes follow the same layout, with the sign reversed.

This layout is switched on for you on request: tell us which customer asks for the breakdown, and we open the document model on your installation. It comes in addition to your usual invoice formats, which stay untouched. On each invoice you pick the model to print, so your other customers keep receiving exactly the document they already know.
