The vCard business card lets you share and retrieve contact details in one click. This way, you exchange contacts with your relations without any re-entry.
DoliPlus exports and imports this format. In practice, you keep your address book up to date between the ERP, your contacts, and your email.
The vCard format, a universal standard
The vCard business card uses the open .vcf (Virtual Card File) format. Widely used, it serves to transmit personal or professional contact details.
Indeed, this format is recognised by most everyday tools:
- address books (Apple Contacts, Thunderbird, Outlook);
- smartphones and tablets;
- email clients and professional networks.
Exporting a vCard from DoliPlus
Exporting is very straightforward. To do this, go to the “Import-Export” tab of a contact, or from the customer or supplier list in the menu. You then get a .vcf file ready to share.
Importing vCards into DoliPlus
Conversely, you can easily integrate received business cards. Two options are available:
- the Tools → Import Wizard → “Customer or supplier – Contacts via vCard” menu;
- the “Import-Export” tab of a contact, which then links the imported contacts to the relevant customer or supplier.
Combine multiple cards into a single file. From the
Tools menu, then Import Wizard / Address Book, an interface lets
you upload all your vCards in the explorer, then merge them into a single file named
Assembly_XXX.vcf. This is the format expected by most address books for a one-time import.
Updating your webmail address book
Finally, you can enrich your email address book. From the Tools → Import Wizard → “Address Book” menu, you upload your vCards, then launch the import.
You can then check the result in your webmail address book. Note: only contacts with an email address are accepted.
